This week, Juniors and Seniors participated in their first annual Cupcake War! Groups were given a “secret” ingredient that they had to incorporate into their recipes. Some of these ingredients included lemon, maple, chocolate chip, and even Greek yogurt. Some of the final flavors were Boston Crème, Lemon Meringue, Maple Bacon, and Peanut Butter. Guest judges were included to rate the cupcakes on taste and presentation.
Students had to reflect on their experience afterwards, and an outcome of this exciting activity was learning physical and chemical reactions in relation to baking. They worked very hard on their recipes! All the cupcakes looked absolutely delicious and the students should be proud of their diligence and hard work!
